Monelle announces her new EP “Breathing Room”, set to release on July 8th

The hauntingly beautiful project unpacks how trauma and mental health affect building relationships.
R&B Singer/Songwriter Monelle is set to release another body of work on July 8th 2022 as a follow-up to her critically acclaimed album In Loathing Memory. Expanding on the themes of isolation and mental health, she dives into her personal experiences yet again to explore how trauma affected her friendships and family.
Exclusively produced by IORDN (@iordnmadethat) and mastered by Rogan Kelsey (Mlindo The Vocalist, Sun-El Musician, Black Coffee), Breathing Room EP is unlike anything Monelle has ever done before. Stepping into the role of executive producer, Monelle set out to embody the true raw emotion of navigating the world whilst struggling with mental health. This EP was written to comfort those who feel alone and offers a guide for others to understand how to care for and listen to their friends when they’re going through difficulties.
In her own words:
“The tracklist was inspired by a moment of meditation….This project starts off very clouded but determined – like taking a leap of faith – because that’s what it feels like to step out of your comfort zone and face your trauma. The second song Pause leads you into this moment of clarity where you have to decide what to do with all the pain you still carry. In the final songs, we return to a very isolated voice, almost like a higher-self guiding you through. I think letting go can be liberating but we need the space to do that. The space to feel the fear, the rage, the strength and release. We all need a little Breathing Room.”
Breathing Room will be available on all streaming platforms on the 8th of July 2022.
